about
Katherine Weber was born and raised in Dallas. She received a B.A. in English and Drama at the University of Dallas in 2019 and an M.A. in Theater at Texas Woman’s University in 2021.
Katherine has been training for audiobook reading under the instruction of Piper Goodeve, who helped her to find her niche in reading. Being a bookworm, particularly in fiction, has certainly bolstered her passion for audiobook reading; some of her favorite genres include fantasy, historical fiction, and thriller.
Through this training, Katherine has honed the clear, smooth sound of her voice, as well as her ability to portray a wide range of characters. Her education and work as a theater actor, particularly the study of Shakespeare, has helped her learn the skills of clear diction, breath control, and the range of pitch her voice can have. She also enjoys making each character she plays distinct and memorable, which has allowed her to read as a wide variety of characters, in age and gender, and even a few supernatural creatures as well. Another aspect she carries over from her time in the theater is her work ethic, as she strives to be reliable and flexible, crafting her own clear ideas on the work while also being open to direction.
A Little Bonus...
"Most people have people in their life who support them and encourage them to follow their dreams. I have been lucky enough to have my family and my friends in my corner; not only have they supported me pursuing my career as a performer--both as a narrator and a stage actor--they have also been incredibly excited to see the work I am doing. But there is someone else who is also quite supportive of my work.
"My makeshift recording studio is set up in the closet of my childhood bedroom, since I live in a condo complex and the amount of noise seriously hinders my productivity. As such, I end up going over to my parents' house to record in my old bedroom closet. And not only are my parents happy to see me when I come over, so is our family's dog, Maggie.
"Maggie is a sweet little girl, and she always likes to be right by your side. At the same time, she has a tendency to invade your personal space, albeit in the cutest way possible. (She does this quite frequently to my mom when she is working.) That being said, she is usually very well behaved while I am working. Most of the time, she curls up on my bed while I am recording. If I do any editing, though, she snuggles up next to me, like she is doing in these pictures. Part of me thinks she is just curious about my work. Another part of me thinks she may want a producer credit for 'supervising' my work. Who knows?
"I know this may not be the most professional thing to put out there, but I love my sweet Maggie, and she has been so cute and funny during my work. I felt that sharing these moments was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Enjoy!"
